April 30, 2007 - this month is finally over, yee haw

Greetings kittens. I haven't blogged because I have been terribly busy this month. Jeremy's old roommate from school has been staying with us. His mom basically kicked him out and told me she didn't want to deal with him anymore. He's hard of hearing, is on SSI and has a job, but nowhere to live. He's been with us almost all month and I've not had any problems with him except one which never happened again, so things have been fine but hectic. He's very polite, cleans up after himself, gave me money and food to help out and has been very nice. He has needed a lot of help filling out paperwork for various things and looking for a place to live, but otherwise hasn't been any trouble. All these lost or unwanted deaf and HH kids get taken in by me and given help so they can stand on their own 2 feet because they have no one else. It's sad. He has to be out by Wednesday because my cranky landlady said she doesn't want more than 2 people living in this apt and I'm tired of her asking me when is he leaving and I don't want to get evicted. Oy vey.

Jeremy's brake line broke, he has no brakes, so he's been unable to look for work for over a week. I made an appointment to get that fixed tomorrow at 1 pm. Then he will take his friend to go get his SSI check (his mom won't mail it), and my friend Sheila will help me run around and pay bills. Tomorrow will be a busy day.

My daughter Christy is working 2 jobs now. She works 30 hours a week at Movie Gallery, then has a morning paper route. She gets up at 3 am and is usually done delivering papers about 6:15 am. She naps until 8 am then goes into work at 9. I help her 2 nights a week with her route because she is always so tired and it gives us a chance to visit with each other as she now goes to bed by 7 pm. I miss being able to visit here in the evenings, so this is the next best thing. She appreciates it and I get to see her, so it's all good.

April 18, 2007 - patience is a virtue

Greetings kittens. Just a quick note to say my pc is working again and I am back online. Life has been crazy, Jeremy lost his cell phone last week and he had just paid his bill and was very bummed. I had it shut off immediately but he can't get another one until May 1 with his SSI. He's been looking for work but as usual no one will hire him in this small town because he is deaf. It's hard to see him so discouraged. But soon, he will be going to visit his dad in Tenn., he's been doing so well he got permission to visit for 7 days and I'm very happy for him as he hasn't seen his dad in 5 years. His dad didn't even know what happened to him until a month ago. Oh well, he's in Jeremy's life again and that's good.
