Aug 31, 2006 - my Tolkien library

I joined a fantasy book club and ordered a set of 6 books by Tolkien. It has The Hobbit, The Lord of The Rings, The Simarillion, Unfinished Tales, The Book of Lost Tales Part One and Two. It's all 6 for $63.99. I already have The Hobbit, but I'll donate my extra copy to the public library or save it for a gift.

I received The Lord of The Rings Sketchbook by Alan Lee and Good Fairies, Bad Fairies by Brian Froud. I perused the faery and sketch books, they are so beautiful with embossed binding and glossy pages, I love them! I'm very excited about starting my Tolkien library, I plan to buy one copy of every book I can get my hands on. :P I have some excellant links to do research with and to find what I want to add to my collection. tolkienlibrary.com and tolkienbooks.net. Doesn't take much to make me happy.

Aug 26, 2006 - oy

My silly pc is screwing up. Yesterday while online I got the blue screen of death twice, it said the system froze (???) and when I restarted it did a fat32 check. Or something. I may be able to design webpages galore, but I know nothing of how the bowels of my pc work. Last time it went into the shop it cost me $150 and I couldn't pay it for a month. Yikes. I also will need a new monitor soon as I now have a fuzzy band about an inch wide in the middle of the screen and the window is off center and I can't fix it. Frak! I wish I didn't love my pc so much and depend on it for entertainment, but I do so I guess it'll need some TLC soon. Ah well.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend, it's beastly hot again here in NE Ohio and my poor A/C is chugging away. I can't wait for fall! Take care kittens.

Aug 21, 2006 - this n that

Not much to blog about, same old same old. I added a bunch of sites to my Faery Magic Button Rotation and changed the layout at Witchy Moon Plugs. I adore Jessica Galbreth's faery art, besides websets I just got a 2007 calender with her paintings, it is gorgeous! I got a catalog in the mail chock full of fantasy item goodness, so I'm going to place an order a month and get all the things I want. :P I even made a banner and am plugging them on a few of my sites. Check them out:

pyramidcollection.com
New Age, Spiritual Gifts, Yoga, Wicca, Gothic, Reiki, Celtic, Crystal, Tarot, Fantasy items

With an extra person here, I ran out of food, so I had to go to Catholic Charities and get a $30 food voucher. Next month should be a lot easier money wise as now there are 3 of of us splitting the bills. I'm going to order some fantasy jigsaw puzzles to keep busy and for fun.

I joined a book club and just got The Hobbit and A Tolkien Miscellany by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of The Rings Sketchbook by Alan Lee, Good Fairies Bad Fairies by Brian Froud, and Cell by Steven King. I read Cell in one sitting and perused the faery and sketch books. They are beautiful with embossed binding and glossy pages, I love them! I also got the purple caftan I ordered, it's a little big but so pretty! I was nice to myself this month though if I'd known CJ was going to move in I would've saved some money for food. Oh well. Next month will be better.

Have a good week kittens and stay safe. xoxo

Aug 12, 2006 - greetings

Oh my. How is everyone? We are doing much better and it finally cooled off this week.

I have some good news. 2 years ago before everything went crazy, Jeremy's good friend Chauncey lived with us for awhile. (It's in my archives somewhere.) He then got his own place and we didn't see him in person for about 2 years, just online. Anyway, he needs a place to live and he came over today to talk to us about moving in again. I was happy to see him as he's a good kid and a good friend to my son. He doesn't have much, but he's clean and courteous, doesn't do drugs or drink, and is funny, so I told him he could move back in with us. By splitting the bills 3 ways, we will all have extra money which would be awesome. I divided the bills by 3 and each of them will give me $180 a month. (It's cheap here in rural Ohio.) Jeremy will have someone to hang around with besides me and I like helping CJ out. He's deaf also, so I promised to interpet for him when he needs it. I'm so happy for Jeremy, he doesn't go anywhere and needs a friend his own age. They are both 22 and have known each other for years. CJ is like a son to me and I'm so glad he's going to be here for my son. I just wonder what my downstairs nosy neighbor is going to say. CJ is black, and unfortunately there is prejudice here in small town America. I've never seen a black person in this town. I grew up in southern Calif and never knew prejudice until I moved to Ohio. I will stand up to my neighbors, but I'm sure they will gossip and fuss over CJ being here. I don't care. He's Jeremy's friend and if people will just leave us alone, we'll leave them alone. As much as I love small towns, I hate that everyone knows and talks about you. Oy. It sucks when you are a private person who likes to mind their own business. Ah well.

I hope you are all having a good weekend. It's been so nice here with the weather getting cooler. I took a walk today, the sky was so blue with not a cloud in sight. I feel so much better now, life is becoming less stressful and that's a relief. :P

Have a good Sunday kittens, and stay safe. xoxo

Aug 01, 2006 - I'm pooped

I am exhausted. It was 94 degrees with 71% humidty today and running errands was hell. We did get to the insurance broker and BMV, so Jeremy and I took our first ride in his blue Ford Ranger. We went to Chris and Mel's, (the Puppy Couple) and did laundry and hung out in their better air conditioning. lol Mine is chugging along, but it's not winning. Even after the sun goes down the air is clammy and hot, so it's no good opening a window. When we first came home today from running around with Chris, I thought I was going to faint. Bleh. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 100 degrees, so I'm not venturing out at all. I'll go food shopping Thursday, my brain is fried from the heat.

I bought 5 films today - Total Recall, Secret Window (oh yum, Johnny Depp), Krull, Little Black Book and The Terminal. If I can break myself away from the LOTR films, I have plenty of films to watch. :P I just read that Aug. 29 a 2 disk special edition of the LOTR films hits the stores. It has the theatrical and extended editions of the films, with 85 unseen added minutes. I'm giddy. lol It will be awhile before I can afford the new editions, but I'm patient. I joined a book club and ordered The Hobbit, The Lord of The Rings, The Lord of The Rings Sketchbook, A Tolkien Miscellany *grin*, Good Fairies Bad Fairies, and Cell by Steven King. I can't wait!

I'm starting Christmas shopping next month, that way I can buy a present a month avoiding the cash crunch and stress in December. Ok, I'm done. I'm going to go watch some movies now and probably fall asleep in the process. lol I leave you with some Elvish from the LOTR films and an Elvish name generator.

Ónen i-Estel Luinëcollo.
I gave Hope to Jeremy.
Ú-chebin Estel anim.
I have kept no hope for myself.

Namárië! Nai hiruvalyë Valimar!
Farewell! Maybe thou shalt find Valimar!

One Ring to rule them all
