Feb 24, 2006 -what doesn't kill you...

I just heard from Jeremy's lawyer. His motion for early release was denied. I'm reeling. The judge said when he sentenced Jeremy he would not oppose his release in 6 months and now he's denied it. I don't understand. It will be a year he's been in prison in March. His lawyer said he will refile in April. My hopes were foolishly pinned on Jeremy getting an early release. On top of that his girlfriend dumped him 2 months ago after writing him love letters swearing undying devotion. No wonder he's in despair. No wonder nothing I say cheers him up. Omg, it's good that little bitch who did this to him is in Washington D.C. I'm to the point I don't care if they got me for assault. Helpless impotent anger...that's all I feel. I will never be okay with an injustice to my child. And once again I'm in a deep dark chasm I can't get out of.

"They're putting on witnesses who they know are lying. They concealed exonerating evidence. Don't we have enough criminal conduct by the prosecutors to put them behind bars?"

"It doesn't work that way," the lawyer laughed. "The law is just for the little people. When we break the rules we go to jail. When they break the rules they go to lunch...."

"But what about the law?" the woman gasped. "What about the Constitution?"

"I'm afraid that's just one of those nice, comforting fantasies like the tooth fairy. There are two classes of people. Those who hold power and those who do not. And in any dispute the guys who hold power will decide which way it's going to go....I hope you understand that this is not about child abuse, just as McCarthyism was not about Communists."

Feb 22, 2006 -busy busy!

Oh my! I have updated all these sites: Masquerade Top Magickal Sites, Faery Unicorn's Loyal Voters Toplist, Kieben's Kittycat Toplist, I © Dogs Toplist, heart-stricken.net and One Ring to rule them all. I also found the cutest cyber toy:

adopt your own virtual pet!

He's too cute! Run your cursor over him. ^_^ I also adopted a dog and a hedgehog. I guess my sites are best viewed with a broadband connection as they are graphic intense. I can't help it, I love creating colorful fun places on the net. Enjoy and happy *hump* day kittens!

Feb 16, 2006 -Happy Birthday Mellissa! xoxo

You know, when I start feeling pissy and sorry for myself all I have to do is read Friday's blog and I realize it could be worse. My heart breaks for her losses and the devastation Hurricane Katrina has brought to her family. I love you dear Friday. *sigh*

Feb 06, 2006 -here I am

I unexpectantly ended up staying with the Puppy Couple for the weekend and it was like a mini vacation for me. Speaking of which I will be house sitting for them while they go on a 2 week vacation to Calif. in March. I will not be home from March 1-14, so I won't be able to get online at all. Oh the withdrawal! :P

I'm working hard on my sites, I converted One Ring to Rule Them All to 1 style sheet which has made edting much easier. Paulina's Playground has a gorgeous Valentine layout. (As you can see the one here didn't stay up very long.) Faery Unicorn's Fae Site has a new layout too.

Let's here it for Perverted-Justice.com and Dateline NBC: To Catch a Predator III for an ongoing hidden camera investigation into computer sex predators -- grown men, trolling the Web for young teenagers aged 12 and 13. This time, police made arrests. It is not okay to have sex with children and finally the message is getting out to mainstream America that this country (USA) has a serious problem. Why are so many men -fathers, brothers, teachers, counselors, men in positions of TRUST, let alone sexual predators- trying or even wanting to have sex with a child? Some of these men have kids of their own, yet they go into chat rooms and hit on young children, send them pornography or even masturbate on camera! What is wrong with the men in America? I'm taking about them simply because I live here and am very aware of this depraved problem. And thinking it can't happen to you or your child on the internet is hiding your head in the sand. A girl of 12 went to meet a man she met online and he killed her.

I get why sex offenders do it (well, not really), but fathers, husbands? Men who are not considered sex offenders are online propositioning children. It seems that hiding behind the mask of normalcy is a legion of predators. This is alarming, troubling and infuriating. What can we do -you, me, the average citizen- who cares about this? All I know to do is keep expressing outrage and supporting organizations who are fighting this menace. We as a nation must address this issue, as unpleasant and uncomfortable as it is. It could be YOUR dad, neighbor, friend, brother, counselor who is trying to set up sex with a child. I am not exaggerating. Read just the first page at Perverted-Justice.com and see what I mean. Be warned, the chats are graphic and disgusting, but remember, these are from men who are saying these things to someone they believe is a child. What if it was? Dear God. How many men actually find a child and do this to them? It's a horrifying thought. Parents, PLEASE PLEASE pay attention to what your kids do online. We must protect our children!
