My pc is still not well! Now it works for a maybe 2 hours then just shuts itself off and reboots. That is really a pain when I'm working on something and I lose it all. Could it just need to be cleaned inside? It's been about 2 years since it was opened up, or is my processor dying? It's 4 years old. I don't know and it's driving me crazy. My friend says I can put my hard drive into another pc, but will that have my memory too? I don't want to lose all my music, I would just cry. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?!?
Have a good week kittens. xoxo

Jan. 27, 2007 - what a week
Hello kittens. It's been a crazy week and yesterday was the worst. I was with my daughter Christy and we were in our first ever car accident. The roads were icey and snowy and it was 12 degrees. We were driving on the narrow rural road Christy lives on when a Blazer came suddenly around a sharp corner. Christy tried to get over to the right a little and the van started sliding. We hit the Blazer and went off into the ditch. No one was hurt but Christy's mirror hit the Blazer's mirror which went into their driver side window and shattered it. The guy got out of his Blazer and started yelling at Christy but it was because he was scared and just had glass shatter in his face. He calmed down after Christy assured him she was a licensed, insured driver and was terribly sorry. The sherrif came and we sat for 2 hours while he took pics of the tracks in the snow and did his measurements. The man apologized for yelling at Christy, he said he was scared which is what I thought and he even let Christy use his cell phone to call Mellissa's sister to come with the chains and truck to pull us out of the ditch as we didn't have any money for a tow truck.
Everyone was shook up but not hurt, thank goodness. I was afraid the guy had glass in his face or eyes, but he was okay. Christy got a ticket for being left of center, but it could've been a lot worse. If she hadn't tried to get over we would have hit him a lot harder. Both vehicles were doing about 30 mph I think. You tend to drive more towards the middle on unplowed back roads as the ditches are filled in and there is now way to see exactly where they drop off. We were fine until we started sliding. To me that is one of the scariest things in the world when you have no control of your vehicle and it just goes sliding off and doesn't stop until you hit something, in our case the ditch. But it turned out okay, and we are all fine.
My pc is running okay again, which somehow makes things better. I guess it just didn't like Powerpoint Viewer 2003 since that's what screwed it up. I can make websites galore but I know nothing of the inner workings of a pc or why certain things happen. It's 4 years old, maybe it needs a tune up or whatever they do to correct problems. I don't know. It's running fine now, so go figure.
Have a good weekend kittens and stay safe. xoxo

Jan. 25, 2007 - whew
My pc is finally working again. I had downloaded Powerpoint Viewer 2003 because I was going to help someone build a lounge/chat room and it was after I installed it that everything went ka-blooey. I couldn't even get to my desktop, just a black screen, no start, no nothing! I finally managed to get it started in safe mode and deleted the program, dumped my cache and temp files and defraged. Internet withdrawal sucked. So for something to do this week I started a 1000 piece fantasy puzzle. I got it finished this morning but I am such a nimblenort that I tripped and knocked it off the table right after I finished it...I just stood there looking at all my work in pieces again and well...it's ok now. I'll just have to do it again. Oy vey. It's not easy being me sometimes!
I got Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves Extended Edition this week and I love it! I'm slowly collecting all my favorite films and books. I'm going to have to buy a new bookcase as the 3 I have are beyond stuffed with books and dvds. Oh well, no worries. Keep your fingers crossed that my pc holds up, I feel like I should pet it and tiptoe around it. Geez. Have a good weekend kittens!

Jan. 16, 2007 - oh no
My pc is sick again and really badly this time. It's starts up, then within 5 minutes it freezes. It took 7 tries to get online today. So if you don't see me blogging you will know why. I have no money to get it fixed until Feb. 1, so frak! Internet withdrawal here I come...
I got 5 dvds in the mail today: Sleepy Hollow, What's Eating Gilbert Grape (my Johnny Depp collection groweth), The Neverending Story, The Dark Crystal, and Dances With Wolves Special Edition, it's 4 hours long. Wow.
I will be watching these to take my mind off my pc and it's illness. I repeat, frak.

Jan. 13, 2007 - oy vey
Things have been going so well, I should've known something would screw up. Jeremy has been in love for 2 years with a girl we met 3 years ago. She wrote him love letters when he was in prison and recently told him they could start dating this month. He's been very happy lately and went to see D and her family Wednesday and Thursday and came home very happy and content. Well, this morning she told him she just wants to be friends and she blocked him on AIM and took him off her myspace. He was devastated. I heard him crying in his room and it broke my heart. Nothing is worse than seeing your child hurting and not being able to do anything about it. I learned when Mike left me 7 years ago that you can't make someone love you even if you love them more than anything else. It's a hard lesson to learn, but I guess he has to. We've all had our hearts broken, it's a part of life. I just hope he doesn't get so depressed he quits his job and gives up, he's been doing so well. When he says things like he wishes he'd never been born, or he doesn't care if he dies or he hates being deaf, I feel so bad and then I worry. All I and his sister can do is be here for him and let him know we care. Christy baked him a homemade pumpkin pie (his favorite) and brought it over to try and cheer him up a little. He did go to work today, so I'll see how he is when he gets home. I'm sure we'll talk, we always do. I don't want to lose that closeness, he's so dear to me. *sigh* Ah well, I know time heals everything, but meanwhile it hurts.
Have a good weekend kittens.

Jan. 05, 2007 - my year in review
Reflection time for me. Being a mom is a lot of work. heh It doesn't end when they turn 18, it's for life. But that's okay. =) "The world is not what I think, but what I live through." -Maurice Merleau-Ponty
May 27, 2006 - Jeremy came home.
June-Sept 2006 - Stress and adjustments.
Sept. 30, 2006 - Jeremy got a job.
Oct. 12, 2006 - Christy and Mellissa bought a 3 bedroom 2 bath home.
Nov. 06, 2006 - Jeremy turned 23.
Nov. 25, 2006 - I had such a lovely Thanksgiving with my kids, Christy and Mellissa and Jeremy.
Dec. 13, 2006 - Happy Birthday Bobbie! She's 29. Wow.
Dec. 26, 2006 - I had a very lovely Christmas with Christy, Jeremy, Mellissa and Mellissa's sister's family, the Shafers.
I bought 4 new films: The Libertine, Bloodrayne, The Incredibles, and Misson Impossible III. Johnny Depp is outstanding in The Libertine, a film about John Wilmot, second Earl of Rochester in the 1660s. Why do some geniuses choose being hell bent on self destruction? It's a tragic story, it reminded me of Interview With The Vampire and Amadeus. For shiny happy times, I adore the Incredibles, and now I have my own dvd. MI:III is my favorite one out of all of the MI films. I have #3 and Jeremy has 1 and 2 and he tried to get me to give him my MI3 and my Scorpion King dvds, but I said nope. (He did talk me out of Blade:Trinity when he first came home because he had Blade 1 and 2 and he wanted it so...well, I can't be strong all the time!) :P
If you and your family watch films together please watch An Inconvenient Truth. The film is about global warming and it's affects. Did you know 2005 was the hottest year on record since they started keeping stats? It's January here in NE Ohio and it's 51 degrees. This is not natural. We should be knee deep in snow and freezing. I'm concerned enough to do something, will you be? Watch this film and then let me know. We are destroying our planet that we live on people, what other race of beings would do such a thing but man? Global warming is affecting us and is going to affect our children and grandchildren. We as a race of beings around the world need to wake up! Read Friday's Child's blog for a firsthand accout of living through Hurricane Katrina whose intensity and devastation was caused by global warming.
My chocolate site was hacked this week, it has been moved and uploaded. *expletive* hackers. Moved Paulina's Playground to http://heart-stricken.net/paulina/. If you are linking to http://ldyicedragon.com/paulina/, please update your links.
Have a good weekend kittens.

Jan. 03, 2007 - another day, another year
My goodness, busy busy. As far as editing goes, new layouts on here and the usual sites plus a copyright update on every single page on every single site I own to cover 2007. I corrected many mistakes and I'm still tweaking sites here and there.
On the home front all is well and I like it. :P
Have a good rest of the week kittens!
