June 30, 2007 - my birthday was wonderful

I spent yesterday with my family and best friend Emma. It was a glorious day and I had such a good time. *sigh of happiness*

On the other hand I think my processor is dying. My pc takes 5-7 tries to get it started and I keep getting device driver error or "Problem caused by computer hardware. This problem was caused by an unrecoverable hardware error that caused the operating system to stop functioning.
Troubleshooting
If you have received this error more than once, it could indicate a serious problem with your computer. We recommend that you do the following:
Back up your files to avoid data loss in case of a complete hardware failure.
Contact the original manufacturer of your computer to determine the specific component which is failing.
Although we know the problem is caused by a hardware component, the error report does not contain enough information to tell us the specific component. It is likely that the problem is being caused by one of the following computer components:
Random Access Memory (RAM)
System board
Central Processing Unit (CPU)
Power supply"

So if I'm offline for a while it's because my pc is not working again. Oy vey!

I hope you in the US have a great 4th of July! Be safe. xoxo

June 18, 2007 - busy busy

Hello kittens. I have been busy baby sitting for my best friend Emma last week and I'm tired! In a good way. Cadie is 10 months old and easy to watch, I've had so much fun playing with her. Emma made a poker room in their basement as a surprise for her hubby Jeff on Father's Day and we had good fun, good people and great conversation. I watched the wee one so Emma and her friends could do all the work. Jeff was stunned and so happy. They have such a great marriage. *sigh*

It's 84 degrees with mild humidity and my apt is an oven. My poor A/C is too small to cool off the whole apt, so my son hangs out in my room a lot. lol When I came home from Em's, he was laying on my bed watching a film in the coolness. I also had a some of my mail orders come in. Now I have new blue dolphin sheets, a new summer dress, a faery puzzle and 10 new dvds. Blood and Chocolate is my current fav film, it's werewolves with a twist.

Blood and Chocolate

I hope you all have a good week! Be safe. xoxo

June 7, 2007 - ho hum

Greetings. I've been looking at my sites on other computers, (mostly laptops) and I've noticed they don't look perfect like they do on my pc. For example: I have my pc text size set to medium, most people seem to have their's set on large which invariably makes my tables longer and uneven because their setting makes the font larger than I intended. I use 1024x768 resolution, the new laptops have larger screens and higher resolution so some of my perfect-to-me graphics look terrible! So all my trying to make my tables neat, even and tidy is for naught. lol And I already knew I was graphically challenged. Ah well, can't be right all the time, right?

Not much happening now. I had to mail the Verizon InPulse phone my sister sent me back to her in Calif. because I couldn't get it activated here in Ohio. It wouldn't go off roaming so I could activate it and they gave me a Youngstown phone number as that is Verizon's closest tower to where I live. Youngstown is 36 miles from my little town in the heartland county cornfields of Ohio. I bought 100 minutes for it, if my sis can't get it activated, I'll tell her to put the minutes on her phone so they won't be wasted. I can't get a refund for them, so my beloved sis can have them. I need to get more minutes for my Tracfone, I've already used 52 of the 60 I bought and it's only the 7th. Frak. There is never enough money...

Anyway! I hope you are all doing well and everyone you love is safe and okay. Have a good weekend kittens. xoxo

How about some eye candy?

yummy

June 5, 2007 - genealogy & bummer

Hello kittens. I've been researching my family tree online with the help of a friend and it's very fascinating. I'm adopted so I've been looking for my birth mother all my life. I found my original birth record and it has my birth mother's maiden name on it! I was stunned. My adoptive parents would never give me any information at all, that's why I started searching with my friend at ancestory.com and other sites. Now I have my mothers first and last name, now it's just a matter of tracing her. It takes hours and lots of patience. My friend is a gem, we've spent hours online doing this stuff. She found military, birth, and census records for my adoptive mom's whole side of the family, I even have my great grand parents names now. My adopted dad is more of a mystery, we can't find ANY records on him at all. Part of the problem is my dad always said his middle name was Mercedes, but after finding my adopted brother's birth record, I found dad's real middle name is Martin! So we are going to search again with the correct name this time and we'll see what we find.

I doubt my birth mother is still alive, she would be in her 80s, but that's okay. If she has died, I would just like to know where her grave is so I can go and talk to her and place some flowers there. I've talked to my Uncle Jay and my sister Debbie (we're all from Calif.) and found out 2 of my aunts died. No one had told me. My sister wants me to come visit her, so I'll have a place to stay when I do. My Uncle Jay was so happy to hear from me, he cried. We had a lovely conversation and I promised to write him and send cards, he said that would make him very happy. When I do visit Calif., my sister said she would go over to my parents house with me and talk to them. Maybe with my sis with me they will give me the information I'm looking for. All we can do is try.

My daughter lost the baby last Saturday. I knew she had the chance of miscarrying (see May 2007 archive), but it was still very sad. Oh well.

Have a great week kittens.
