Mar. 30, 2006 -got a blog?

I found a neat site, it's a blog plug wall.

I am 16% White Trash.
Not at all White Trashy!
I, my friend, have class. I am so not white trash. I am more than likely Democrat, and my place is neat, and there is a good chance I may never drink wine from a box.

I am 62% Internet Addict.
Total Internet Addict!
I am pretty addicted, but there is hope. I think I'm just well connected to the internet and technology, but it's really a start of a drug-like addiction. I must act now! Unplug this computer!

Mar 28, 2006 -kudos to Perverted-Justice.com & Dateline NBC

Darke County Press Release

DATE: March 27, 2006
FROM: Richard M. Howell, Prosecuting Attorney
Toby L. Spencer, Sheriff
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Over the three day period of March 24th through March 26th, 2006 the Darke County, Ohio Sheriff’s Office, in a joint effort with a non-profit organization named Perverted-Justice and the nationally broadcasted news program, Dateline NBC, conducted a covert sting operation to catch internet sexual predators and combat pedophilia.

Over the last two weeks Perverted Justice volunteer contributors posed in internet chatrooms as juveniles between the ages of 13 and 15 residing in Darke County, Ohio. The contributors simply went into internet chatrooms with fake online screennames and waited for illegal sexual conduct. The predators had made arrangements to meet a posed juvenile for the explicit purpose of engaging in sexual conduct at a residence located in Greenville Township, Darke County, Ohio and rented by NBC. News correspondents and hidden cameras were waiting in the home as part of Dateline’s ongoing “To Catch a Predator” investigation into computer sex predators. This effort is expected to be subsequently aired by NBC as the fourth in its series.

Seventeen persons were arrested by Darke County Sheriff Deputies after leaving the home, and all have been charged with Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor, a felony of the fourth or fifth degree depending on the ages of the perpetrator and of the victim. All seventeen are scheduled to appear in the Darke County Common Pleas Court beginning at 10:30 this morning. Additional charges against these persons, as well as against others not yet arrested appear likely.

Of the seventeen persons arrested, they reside as close as West Milton, and as far as Lexington, Kentucky, Euclid, Ohio and Ft. Wayne, Indiana. A list of all those arrested, their age, the actual charge against them, the degree of the charge and the age and sex of the posed victim is attached hereto.

================

As a resident of Ohio, I have been to many of these places. My son lived in Findlay for a short time. Unfortunately I'm not surprised that there are perverts in the Heartland. People here do have more of a sense of family than where I lived in So. Calif. and you'll see more churches than bars in most small towns, but evil is here nonetheless. I offer my heartfelt thanks to the people at PeeJ, because of them I can sleep better at night. I wonder how long it will take before parents really start paying attention to what their kids are doing online. I hope parents will start teaching their children cause and effect. There are consequences of acting irresponsibly, and some of them are severe. In a country that sexualizes our young in ads and films, we as parents need to guide our kids and counter bad influences. That's what being a parent means.

Mar. 22, 2006 -happy Wednesday again

I am finally home for good. I got home yesterday evening but didn't get online until this morning. I've been online all day updating and my eyeballs are seared to the monitor. It's still bitter cold out. The paying site job isn't happening, my ex mother-in-law changed her mind and is going to make it herself. Oh well, you'll have that.

Mar. 15, 2006 -happy Wednesday

Greetings! I'm home today for a few hours and I'll be home for good by Monday, maybe sooner. It's been nice to get away for a while, but it also will be nice to be home. I didn't miss the internet as much as I thought...must be all the fantasy films I'm watching. :P

I have 2 jobs to do when I get back. My ex mother-in-law wants me to build a business website for her. She's paying me and will recommend me if she likes my work. She already told me my sites are amazing, *blush* so I think she'll be pleased when I'm finished. She wants a set up similar to Webshots only her site will feature arists from Calif. The other job will be a business site for my true crime buddy Trench and his wife. I also promised Trench a graphic, I will get that done today.

I highly recommend the film Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire on dvd, I've watched it umpteen times and I want to read the book again. If our wacky weather here in NE Ohio ever gets and stays warm, I'll walk to the library and get the HP books again, or maybe the books on tape so I can listen to them as I compute.

I got a letter from Jeremy, he is very depressed he's not been released. He wants $150 for a tv in his room and I will see that he gets it. He hasn't asked for a thing since he's been gone but he is feeling like he will be in there until at least fall. He's almost given up hope, the very thing I lost long ago but haven't told him. If a tv will help make the time more bearable, then a tv he shall have. I will afford it somehow, the paid site job will be saved for that. I miss my son so much it hurts.

Have a good *hump* day kittens and stay safe. I'm thinking of you. xoxo

Mar. 11, 2006 -I'm here for a bit

Hello kittens. I'm here for a few hours as I had to come home to show the apt this morning to a perspective buyer. I'll be glad when the house is sold, all this looking into my closets and refrigerator makes me uncomfortable.

I'm still house sitting and running here and there with Robin. I just bought Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire on dvd, so I'm having a fantasy film marathon. ^_^ All 4 HP films, all 12 dvds of LOTR. I have to stay sane somehow with Jeremy hovering always in my thoughts.

I should be back no later than Mar 20th. I appreciate the comments, I wish I could give all of you a big hug. Enjoy the weekend kittens, and be safe.

Mar. 03, 2006 -The Two Towers EE

Greetings halflings! I am house sitting for friends on vacation so I am away from my pc for about 2 weeks. I'll be back, I promise.

Oh my! I finally bought my own copy of The Two Towers Extended Edition! Now my collection is complete until the LOTR anniversary special edtions or whatever come out. ^_^ I have the 3 theatrical releases and the trilogy of the EEs. Doesn't take much to make me happy.

Once again I am immersed in the story that grabbed my heart and won't let go. You don't know how much I rever Professor Tolkien, and also Peter Jackson. I don't own the books, all I have is the films and what I read online. The story has shown me that hope, loyalty, love for the greater good, qualities we are sadly lacking as a society, are still alive if only in books or on film. These films are my "comfort movies". I have enough time to watch all 9+ hours of the EEs, so I can get lost in the story over and over again. I have found my perfect man (which I can never have lol) in Aragorn, son of Arathorn. (Not Viggo, just his portrayal.) I have found the friends I wish I had in the Hobbits. I have had a wise grandfather in Gandalf. By watching the appendicies, I have learned much more about Professor Tolkien, the film making process, the writing process, how a group of awesome and dedicated people got together and turned a masterpiece of literature into film. I also rented Ringers - Lord of The Fans. Yes, I am a die-hard Ringer! There are other people like me. Ónen i-Estel Edain. Ú-chebin estel anim.

Enjoy the weekend, I'll be back online next Weds 3/08. I love your comments, they make me smile, which is something I don't often do. Westu hál.
