Mar. 09, 2007 - misadventures with laptops
Well after 3 tries, Jeremy has a working laptop. The first one crashed in 2 days due to a programming error caused by Dell, he got another after a week and the second one worked for 4 days then wouldn't start, and finally he got a Toshiba that worked for 2 days and then wouldn't start either. In exasperation I brought it back and they told me they had forgotten to explain to let the battery fully charge first and then use it. I had just gotten online immediately and activated his McAffee virus protection and set it up. So at last after nearly a month, he has a working laptop and I still have a sick pc. I'm saving money to get it fixed and can't use it all the time as it crashes whenever it feels like it.
I must confess I haven't missed being online too much. I'm tired of fighting direct linkers for my bandwidth, hackers, people who leave porn links on my family sites, people demanding (instead of asking) for help, sexual emails, spam and internet drama and even maintaining my 43 sites. I'm thinking of cutting way back on my creations...I've somehow lost interest in it all. My domains are paid for another year but heart-stricken's hosting space needs to be paid next month, so I'm not sure what I will do. *sigh*
Hope you are all well and doing okay. Jeremy got fired on the day of our big snow storm because we couldn't get him unstuck, so he's looking for a new job frantically as his laptop payment is coming up soon. Take care kittens.

Feb. 16, 2007 - long time no see
Jeremy got a laptop today so I can get online but it has the new Windows Vista installed instead of XP so it's having compatibility issues with ftp, winzip and anything else I'm trying to help him install. Life has been crazy, everything that can go wrong has done so at least twice and I'm frazzled and bummed.
And for those of you who wish you lived where it snows...it's 13 degrees here, the snow is past knee deep, it takes 15-20 minutes to thaw out your vehicle so you can scrap all the ice off the windows so you can see, the roads have been slick with ice and treacherous, and the snowplows have made huge ugly mounds of dirty snow mixed with salt and ash on the sides of the roads. Snow is only pretty on a postcard, living in it really sucks.
I'll be back on soon, I'm helping Jeremy set up his laptop but at least I can get online somewhat. I hope you are all doing okay and feel better than I do. Peace.
