Oct. 30, 2006 - Two Hobbit Films Planned
MGM touts twice the LOTR prequel action.
"October 25, 2006 - MGM and New Line Cinema are moving ever closer to making J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit a big-screen reality. And now it seems that the studios may be planning not one, but two films based on the 1937 fantasy novel.
MGM chief operating officer Rick Sands revealed the plans this past weekend during a trade show in Orlando, Florida, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The Hobbit follows Bilbo Baggins on an adventure with a band of dwarves and the wizard Gandalf as they attempt to reclaim the dwarves' stolen treasure and restore their kingdom.
This is the second time in the past month that Sands has publicly commented on the project. A few weeks ago, he issued a statement in response to a fan petition urging MGM and New Line to pursue Lord of the Rings helmer Peter Jackson as the director of The Hobbit
'Peter Jackson's phenomenal success with The Lord of the Rings trilogy makes him the first and most ideal choice for directing The Hobbit. MGM would be thrilled to collaborate with the Academy Award-winning director on this MGM New Line Cinema production,' Sands said.
Keep your browser set to IGN for more Hobbit updates."
*gasp* Do I need to say how unbelievably happy this would make me?!?

Oct. 22, 2006 - I can't get enough of this film!

Gad, I love this film to death. It always makes me smile. There is a song after the credits named "Calling" which is sung in Japanese. I found the lyrics to it in Japanese and English. Doesn't take much to make me happy...

English:
I wonder how many sleepless nights you have to count, before you find your way After how many lives are lost, will the strife end? Clowns that cannot be saved, just tumbling atop of history Like someone said one day before The answer is in the wind
How many times does your face have to be hit as you turned it away, before you stop pretending you don't notice? How much pain must you endure, before you smile freely? If you're going to accept defeat again, still bound by rusted chains Like someone said one day before The answer is in the wind
With your voice strained and your hands gripping tightly Waiting for the time when your destiny is sure to change With the faint power of a tiny love Always waiting for your sadness to be embraced
Pitiful frauds working their puzzles of lies Foolish romanticists who gracefully entertain with clumsiness And the premonition of the coming of the day when history will tell you nothing Like someone said one day before The answer is in the wind
With your voice strained and your hands gripping tightly Waiting for the time when your destiny is sure to change With the faint power of a tiny love Always waiting for your sadness to be embraced

Jeremy got paid today. Guess what my son purchased for a pet. It stays in his room and I'm not feeding it.

Oct. 17, 2006 - Andy Rooney is a really smart guy!
Greetings kittens. How are you guys?! I'm doing okay. Yesterday I was helping my daughter fix up the new house she bought and boy, am I sore. They pulled all the carpets up to put new carpeting and I spent hours pulling staples out of the floor. I've got blisters on my fingers and a swollen right hand today, so this post will be short and sweet. Gad, getting older sucks! Except for maybe this - heehee
60 Minutes Correspondent Andy Rooney (CBS)
"As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:
A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think.
If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting.
Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it.
Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.
Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40.
Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is fairer than her younger counterpart.
Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.
Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize.
For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?", here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!"
Have a happy! xoxo

Oct. 12, 2006 - oy vey
My friends, the Puppy Couple bought a 3 bedroom 2 bath home with 7 acres and 2 wells out in the country. Well, there is a problem with the wells, you have to keep swtiching between them because the water just stops running. I discovered it when I was scrubbing the smaller bathroom. This is something that should have been mentioned at the auction. It's like $15,000 to dig a well here and any problem with them is expensive. I told them that there is always a problem the previous owner neglects to mention. This is their first home and they don't have any extra money for repairs. Mel's brother-in-law is furious, he's telling them to threaten to back out, the auctioneer is upset, he has a reputation to keep, the previous owners say the previous tenants didn't tell them of the problem (it was a rental)...it's a mess. After we had them virtually moved in, we had to move a lot of stuff back to their old trailer at least until Monday when the well specialist and auctioneer and all involved come out to see what the problem is. Poor Chris, she cried, we were so tired and had done so much work. We've painted and scrubbed and cleaned all the carpets...I feel for them.
Jeremy is working a lot, he likes his new job and even brings food home sometimes. Omg, it is so good! He brought home chicken breasts and potatoes and they melted in my mouth. He brought home some desserts and they were heavenly. I'm just glad his self esteem has gone up. He even wants to get off SSI. He wants to be financially independent and live on his own eventually. I think it's wonderful, although I know I will worry about him a lot. I always will, his deafness makes everything so different. It's not really his deafness that's the problem, it's how hearing people react to it. People can be very rude and intolerant of things that I wish they had understanding and compassion for. People with disabilities can't help it. No one asks to be born different, it just happens. I think it's up to us who are not disabled/impaired to make an effort to understand. I've noticed hearing people don't like to have to write everything down to talk to a deaf person. They say it gets "tedious." Well, what about the deaf person? You think it's easy for them to not understand or not know what's happening because they can't hear? Come on, people! I'll never forget when the police told me they wouldn't get an interpeter for Jeremy and "it's not our fault he's deaf and can't understand." Oh, so it's Jeremy's fault? Good lord, some people are so insensitive.
I hope you're all having a good week. It's almost over now. I'm tired, so I'm going to go watch Final Fantasy : Advent Children for the umpteenth time and then some LOTR. Stay safe kittens. xoxo

Oct. 08, 2006 - "The system has stopped..."
Myspace. It has to be Myspace. If I don't go there, my pc doesn't freeze or give me blue screens of death or need to be restarted 4 times. My son went there tonight and kee-rash! I have to admit being on myspace made me remember why I bought my own domains and my own hosting in the first place...so I wouldn't have to deal with slow loading pages, too many graphics or effects that crash my browser, pop-ups, ads, server too busy, etc. I will keep my profile there, but I'm not going there anymore. Now I just have to explain why to Jeremy...

Oct. 05, 2006 - ahh, October
It cools off enough to leave windows open and air out the apt. It gets chilly at night now, but I like it. It's so much better than running an A/C 24/7 just to keep your apt at 89 degrees. The humidty isn't a problem when it's not broiling hot. It will be in the winter, but that's not here yet. One season at a time...

I made and uploaded a What is Direct Linking? page to every site I own. Direct linkers make a lot of extra work for me. I have to check my stats daily from my c-panel which is a wonderful page you get when you purchase space on a good server. I go to the site in my stats so I can see the graphic being linked to, right click on it to get properties which shows me the url of the image, then if possible I leave a message immediately asking them to remove it. If I can't do that, I email the site owner/administrator and the server administrator with copies of my stats and then deal with that through email. I even had to join and explain to a spanish MSN group recently using an online free translator that someone was linking to my graphic and I wanted it removed. If all else fails, I do the old "switcharoo". I simply change the graphic they are direct linking to an ugly one. Of course, then wherever I'm using that same graphic, I have to change the name in the coding and then upload the newly switched images. It gets discouraging as I can't make some sites exactly as I envision them. I have to hold back on music or a graphic file that gives that little extra touch because someone will come along and direct link to it, stealing my bandwidth. Some of my files being linked to were huge! Those have sadly been deleted. I have the space, it's the bandwidth which is killing me. I pay for 9mgs of bandwidth a month, I used to use 7. I am fighting back. This is all I have, I will fight for it.

Oct. 01, 2006 - oh my
My pc is sick. It's crashing all the time again, blue screens of death that say "the system has stopped" or "device driver error" or something, I must memorize it. I had to restart 4 times, then I tried to de-frag and it crashed to the blue screen in the middle of that. I tried CLRL+ALT+DELETE' twice and a third time and nothing happened. I hit the reset button and it did a fat32 file scan folder #Dcca 6D85 (that's all I can remember). I let it do the scan, then a white screen which I've never seen before came up and said there was an error in my desktop, if I wanted my custom desktop I had to click a button. I did, my desktop came up and then a Microsoft pop-up said "The system has recovered from a serious error. The information has been forwarded...blah blah." I cliked the link they provided and got this How to troubleshoot hardware and software driver problems in Windows XP which I will do after this defrag is complete.
Yikes. I am not good with techy things. These to me are techy, and I don't know what I'm doing, frankly I'm terrified that I'm going to delete or screw up a file that the pc needs to run properly. I don't have the money to pay someone to fix it this month. The last time they "fixed" it (I had to take it in twice, because they did the memory installation wrong, my pc wouldn't even run...it's in my lost archives) it cost me $150. I don't have it. Damn it. I ask for so little, I just need my computer. Creativity, LOTR, Enya, Helen, Satch and Vai keep me sane. My needs are simple.
Btw, Jeremy got the film Final Fantasy : Advent Children on dvd. I saw it with him once before when I rented it for my birthday. Well, I watched it 3 times this morning and I am blown away. It is by far the best cg I have ever seen. IMHO - Square-Enix is better than Pixar or even the god who made The Lord of The Rings, Weta Workshop / Weta Digital.

Not everyone is a fan of this genre I realize, but if you are a gamer, or someone who loved the game Final Fantasy VII on pc or PlayStation, and you care about the storyline and what happened after the game ended; if you like superb graphics and knock your socks off stunts, then see Final Fantasy : Advent Children on dvd. It's superb.
Dont forget to check out Helen Trevillion! *points down* Later, kittens, be safe. xoxo

Sept. 30, 2006 - Helen Trevillion
I wanted to tell you about an unsigned composer/singer I've found. Her name is Helen Trevillion. Her music is like Tori Amos in insightfulness and a little like Enya in song. I love her music, I have 31 of her songs on my pc and I listen to her a lot. I asked her for permission to burn them to a cd so I can listen to her offline and she said yes! Jasmine and I will be setting up a fanlisting for Helen in the next few weeks. I'm so happy to do this, she is a very sweet girl and her songs are so pretty. You can listen to her music here: destiny-hikari.net http://www.myspace.com/helentrevillion Give her a listen if you like sweet soothing music.
