Sept. 30, 2006 - I blogged a lot this month

do the hustle! Hi everyone. I have some good news! Jeremy got a job in an Italian Grille restaurant a few days ago. He's making good money and his self esteem is so much better. CJ moved out yesterday, I will miss him, he's a good kid and it was enjoyable having him here. But he wants to move on, he got a place with a buddy of his and he's going to get a job and a car. I wish him all the luck in the world.

grrrr Because of freaking direct linkers I've used 97% of my bandwidth this month! That has never happened before. People were linking to some of my biggest files, animated graphics and mp3s. Needless to say I was ticked off. I took care of them in the last 2 days by either threatening legal action or deleteing the files. Only 2 people responded and apologized. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, I made a page to explain What is Direct Linking? and why it makes people who pay for their own domains and web space so angry. I have 41 web sites, soon 42 (I deleted my true crime site, I just can't handle man's inhumanity to man anymore), so I need all the bandwidth I pay for. I thought I clearly stated on all my sites do not direct link my images, but people either don't care or they don't know that what they are doing is illegal. Just because you put a graphic online, it doesn't mean it's "public domain". It still belongs to whomever made it. Yeesh.

I wanted to tell you about an unsigned composer/singer I've found. Her name is Helen Trevillion. Her music is like Tori Amos in insightfulness and a little like Enya in song. I love her music, I have 31 of her songs on my pc and I listen to her a lot. I asked her for permission to burn them to a cd so I can listen to her offline and she said yes! Jasmine and I will be setting up a fanlisting for Helen in the next few weeks. I'm so happy to do this, she is a very sweet girl and her songs are so pretty. You can listen to her music here:

http://www.myspace.com/helentrevillion.
Give her a listen if you like sweet soothing music.

Helen Trivillion

Brittany is here for a few days visiting us, she is one of my "kids" as I consider all of Jeremy's friends. She was an enormous help through Jeremy's crisis as she had contacts with the deaf community that I don't have. I love her very much and secretly wish her and Jeremy would get back together someday, but right now he's too scared to date ANYONE. I can't say I blame him after what Amber VanOrman did to him. I found out she did the same thing to another boy before Jeremy. I feel sorry for whomever she dates, they better be careful, this girl is trouble. Her name on myspace is "RIP my jeans, not my heart" but her profile is private which is fine, I don't want to see it anyway. Just seeing her picture on different myspace pages is hard enough. I will never forgive her for what she did to my family.

Speaking of which, it's time to tell the truth. I have 4 children: daughter 28, son 27, daughter 27, and son 22. Jeremy is the youngest. That's all I will say about them as they've asked me not to talk about them. I ©love them with all my heart.

Have a great weekend kittens! xoxo

Sept. 28, 2006 - I think I'm going to faint

I just found Joe Satriani and Steve Vai's myspace pages. These guys are my heroes, guitar gods, idols, whatever! I've loved Steve's work since 1984. I first heard Satch in 1995. These guys make music that touches my soul, makes me laugh, cry, rock out, head bang, play air guitar, the works! I've already been added to Tori Amos's and Helen Trevillion's friends lists, so if Vai & Satch add me, I will have a kind of contact with my 4 favorite musicians. *breathe*

Sept. 21, 2006 - FYI - all about E-mail marketing

E-mail marketing is a form of direct marketing which uses electronic mail as a means of communicating commercial or fundraising messages to an audience. In its broadest sense, every e-mail sent to a potential or current customer could be considered e-mail marketing.

Sept. 19, 2006 - Peter Jackson

As some of you may know, Peter Jackson is one of my favorite directors. He is now the subject of a book titled PETER JACKSON: A Film-maker’s Journey by Brian Sibley.

PETER JACKSON: A Film-maker’s Journey

"Once, Peter Jackson was a name unknown to all but a small band of loyal fans and fellow film-makers. Now he is the newest member of Hollywood's elite fellowship, with his name on the most successful movie trilogy of all time.

Written with Jackson's full participation, this extensive biography, illustrated with never-before-seen photos from Jackson's personal collection, tells the inside story of how a New Zealander became Hollywood's hottest property – from the early cult classics, through Academy Award™-winning success with Kate Winslet's Heavenly Creatures, the abandoned King Kong remake, and the filming of The Lord of the Rings, a project which was abandoned two years into pre-production, rejected by most of the other studios and then picked up by New Line Cinema in the biggest gamble in film history.

Drawing upon interviews with fifty of Peter Jackson's colleagues and contemporaries, author Brian Sibley paints a portrait of a true auteur, a man gifted with single-minded determination and an artist's vision. Jackson himself is both revealing and insightful about his entire film-making life, from his first childhood steps filming in Super 8 to the grand realisation of his life’s dream: King Kong.

Together, these joint narratives provide a truly unique and compelling insight into one of the finest cinematic minds at work today."

I will read it if not buy it as I think the man is brilliant.

Happy Tuesday! xoxo

Sept. 18, 2006 - I am in Tolkien heaven!

I just received my order of The Hobbit, The Lord of The Rings, The Simarillion, Unfinished Tales, The Book of Lost Tales Part One and Part Two. I am so excited! Guess what I'll be reading and researching for the next few months. *grin* These books along with A Tolkien Miscellany and The Lord of The Rings Sketchbook by Alan Lee are going to keep me engrossed for a good long while. At last, I've started my Tolkien library. Westu Paulina hál.

I was able to pick out a free bonus book, so I picked Rincewind the Wizzard by Terry Pratchett. I got a brochure on all his Disc World books so I thought I would finally get one and find out if I like Terry as an author as much as Tolkien and J.K. Rowling.

I've heard of author Neil Gaiman over the years (Tori Amos reveres him), so I got the dvd Mirrormask to see what all the fuss is about. lol I also got the film Royal Deceit mostly because Kate Beckinsale (Underworld 1&2, Serendipity, Pearl Harbor) is in it. Gabriel Byrne and Christian Bale are in it too and I like them as actors so hopefully the films will be good. If they are, I'm blogging it! lol

Have a great week kittens. xoxo

Sept. 17, 2006 - The Shire of Bend, Oregon

"The Shire is a development that borrows its basic design concept, styling and features from an era where the sense of community, the beauty of the land and the interaction of the residents with the land had high value. The Shire brings the spirit of a great age to daily living. The Shire has many flavors of eighteenth century English architecture and landscaping chosen because the style of the period was enchanting, evoking good feelings of a simpler lifestyle than the present. The Shire is a place where just the beauty and charm of the grounds and the structures make you relax, smile and be happier. We set out to create a lifestyle rather than a subdivision."

a Hobbit hole

I want to live there! Oh my, I would give anything to live in such a place. *sigh* Of course I could never afford to buy property there, but what a dream come true. Gad, I wish I was a Hobbit with some money. The Shire of Bend, Oregon

Sept. 13, 2006 - myspace

Okay, so I jumped on the myspace bandwagon and made a page there. It's basically for me to network with my many deaf friends. http://www.myspace.com/kieben. It's very basic right now, I really really don't like online editors, I love using Notepad because I know what I'm doing and the html does what I tell it to. The myspace site just went down, so I guess I'll work on it more tomorrow. I'm not going to load it with a bunch of pictures or music, it's just basic and boring and LOTR themed.

I'm tired, so I bid you farewell. Toodles.

Sept. 12, 2006 - busy busy

Monday was a somber day remembering those who lost their lives due to the terrorist attack. My heart is with their loved ones.

I finally got the archives here all matching and linked so now you can peruse my blog at your leisure. I worked on most of my sites and tweaked the html just because I could. :P I completely redid heart-stricken.net, it's been culled and fine tuned. Jeremy has friends over (he has all week) and is doing okay. My nerves are better and I'm just trying to ignore stupid people and live my life.

Have a good week kittens and stay safe.

Sept. 10, 2006 - where have I been?

I have immersed myself in my Playground doing a complete page rework. I've moved my Beauty Section to this domain. I'm trying to help my host with bandwidth and it's a large section, so it has been jettisoned from the Playground. It shall be reborn as a seperate site, see heart-stricken.net for details later. Also gone are Awards for You and my S2S Spirit Page. =( My Faery Magic Button Rotation has been removed from the site also and relocated.

I am hiding from the world and I don't care who knows it.

Sept. 3, 2006 - I'm psycho psychic

I knew my neighbors would get in a tizzy over CJ being here. I was strongly encouraged to move by my landlady yesterday. Damn old biddies who can't just relax and leave us alone.

from Happy Phantom-cd "Little Earthquakes" by Tori Amos

And if I die today
I'll be the HAPPY Phantom
And I'll go chasin'
the nuns out in the yard
And I'll run naked
through the streets without my mask on
And I will never need
umbrellas in the rain
I'll wake up in
strawberry fields every day
And the atrocities of school
I can forgive
The HAPPY phantom
has no right to bitch

Oo who the time is getting close
Oo who time to be a ghost
Oo who every day we're getting closer
The sun is getting dim
Will I pay for who I been

And if I die today...
Chasin' the nuns out in the yard
